Clan Cameron and Jacobite History. Site of the WWII Commando Basic Training Centre.

History of the Cameron Clan from their early beginnings to the present day, including the Jacobite Risings and the Highland Clearences. Find out about the 2nd World War Commando Training at Achnacarry. Our highlights are Bonnie Prince Charlie's waistcoast and secret picture ring, Ewan Dubh, the seventeeth chief's, seventeenth century boots, and Princess Diana's bridesmaid's dress. There are lovely estate walks- to see what remains of the old castle, to the spectacular Cia-aig waterfall and the Commando Trail. You can sit in or out and enjoy coffee, tea and ice cream, browse our well stocked gift shop and dogs are welcome.
