Caledonian Railway (Brechin)

An award-winning volunteer operated heritage railway that runs 4 miles between Brechin and Bridge of Dun in Angus.

We are an award-winning volunteer operated heritage railway, running historic steam and diesel trains in Angus on selected weekends throughout the year. Our branch line is 4 miles long and runs between the town of Brechin and Bridge of Dun in Angus. We have an array of services to suit everyone, including Gin Tasting, Murder Mysteries, Day Out With Thomas and Santa Specials. Since 1979, a dedicated group of volunteers have been working tirelessly to restore and preserve the railway. In 2019, the Caledonian Railway was the recipient of The Queen’s Award for Voluntary service, which is the highest accolade any volunteer group can receive.
